1. Hello Toledo,

   My name is Keith Aclin and I belong to a Christian group call Cursillo. During the weekend we tell a story regarding an even that occurred during your countries 1930’s revolution. The story is regarding a 20ish year old man names Manolo Llanos. He was a leader of the anti-fascist group Catholic Action. The story goes that he resisted the fascist’s efforts to take control of Toledo. He was tortured and killed in a square of your town. Given he would not break, the town was the first to resist the fascists and eventually expelled them completely. The story goes on to say that after the war a monument was created out of cobble stones. The monument supposedly has engraved a hand holding a cross, with the words “Christ and I, an overwhelming majority”.

   I am writing to see if you can provide:
   1. Confirmation if this story is or is not true. Did any (or all) of this occur?
   2. Did such a monument exist in a Toledo square?
   3. If a monument exist today (or in the past), would it be possible to obtain a photo of it?

   This story holds a lot of “power” for the Cursillo movement, and we are attempting to verify if this is correct or not.
